Finally her curiousity drove away her apathy and she left Ganondorf's chamber to trail after her captor. He had said nothing when she appeared in the throne room, had barely looked at her, but she almost convinced herself that he slowed his gait slightly to allow her to follow at a close distance.

She stood at the back of the room while he discussed business with the Gerudos in a language that she couldn't understand. The warriors glared at her but otherwise ignored her, much to her relief. Their narrow eyes flashed and fingers gripped their curved blades, but they left quietly when the meeting was ajorned. Ganondorf swept out and she warily padded behind him.

That's how the day went. For the most part she simply sat and watched; Ganondorf's routine included mundane tasks like reading old texts and writing yards and yards on parchment in strange characters that she didn't recognize. He also practiced fighting for hours, conjuring and then killing twisted beings from other realms. He didn't eat so she didn't either, but she had gone before without meals and didn't think of her hunger.

Finally, long after the sun had set, she followed him into the hallway that led to his bedroom. She almost locked the door behind her when he stood aside and allowed her to enter first, but they seemed to have reached an unspoken truce and she consented to his presence.

She hestiated and pulled worriedly at her gown, but finally undressed herself and climbed into bed. She heard rather than saw him remove his layers of armor; Ganondorf had snuffed the magicked candles with the tiniest flick of his hand and plunged the room into darkness. When he joined her on the bed she inched away to the very edge of the mattress and counted her racing heartbeats but didn't pull back when he reached for her.
